About Me

Home was a feeling I never quite grasped growing up in a military family. My dad, an Eastern North Carolina native, dedicated 27 years to the Air Force. My mother, on the other hand, hailed from The Netherlands. This unique blend of backgrounds meant a childhood filled with constant movement. But when we finally settled down for the last time and unpacked - it felt different. I thought we were putting roots down, but South Carolina sunk its roots into me, and became a place to finally call my home.

How it Started

In 2020, a spark ignited me to share my passion for home cooking on social media. Little did I suspect I'd stumble upon a vibrant community of home cooks, chefs, bakers, and grill masters, all united by a shared passion – creating magic in the kitchen, weeknight warriors just like me. Folks juggling families and full-time jobs, yearning to elevate the dinner table beyond take-out. People from every corner of the world, eager to share cherished family recipes and discover new culinary adventures.

How It’s Going

That confidence sparked content partnerships with major brands like Oklahoma Joe’s Smokers and Harris Teeter, leading to a whirlwind TV journey—from competing on Guy’s Grocery Games to showcasing my heritage on Season 3 of PBS’s The Great American Recipe. Today, I’m bringing that same energy to the screen as the host of Dapper Dad’s Kitchen on PBS Charlotte, now rolling into its second season!

From hesitant home cook to culinary adventurer, my passion for food grew from sharing meals with family, friends, and an incredible online community. What began as a quest for new recipes and techniques quickly revealed a hidden talent for improvising bold flavors with whatever ingredients were on hand.
